Our Club Captains 24/25

Rachel Craig

Hi my name is Ruby Gray and I’m 18 years old. I have swam for Ballymena Amateur Swimming Club for the past 10 years. Throughout my time in the club I have had the opportunity to swim in Division 1 and 2 championships. My favourite stroke is breaststroke and I love competing to get PB’s as well as a sense of self achievement. I have made lots of friends over the years. I have also been lucky enough to attend two training holiday camps in Fuerteventura. Swimming is a great way to stay fit. It allows me to switch off from my schoolwork. I love how you can compete both as individual but also as team. I’m very to be this years club captain.

Hi my name is Cody Lau. I am 16 years old. I have been swimming with the club for 8 years. Since I started swimming, I have competed in the Winter Nationals, Irish Open/Olympic Time Trials, Irish Short Course, Summer Nationals and Division 1. Last year I was selected for the Ulster Squad. We headed over to Swansea to compete. My favourite events are 1500m and the 200m IM. I enjoy swimming as part of a team because not only it is fun but I have made some really great friends. I am very happy to be this years club captain.

Hi I’m Emily Hill, I have been a member of Ballymena swimming club for 8 years. During this time I have made many very good friends who have helped guide me, as well as very valuable memories. I have also learned so much from all the coaches who have helped teach me techniques which helped me achieve my Pb’s. I have competed in division 1 and 2 and for that reason I know how daunting it is to compete for the first time in competitions and I am happy to look out for you. I am looking forward to this year as vice captain to be able to give something back to the club for all the help and support that I have reach throughout my time in Ballymena.
